I’ve decided I need a tablecloth for my kitchen table. Well, gosh, I think I’ll make one.
Went through several patterns. Thought about my yarn. Debated using a round 10-stitch blanket pattern, either needle or loom knit, but I do want to just use cotton yarn. For me cotton yarn is much more forgiving on a crochet hook than on a loom, and I’m too new to needle-knitting to tackle that big of a project.
So, off I go, with my cone of “Chocolate Milk” Peaches and Cream and my trusty (and gorgeous) Furls crochet hook. I’m just doing a simple double-crochet round piece, which works up pretty quickly and is relatively mindless. But, considering I need it to be about 50 inches in diameter, it will take me a bit. Right now I’m only at around 8.5 inches. I decided the blotchy way the yarn pools will hide stains, HA!
What are some of your favorite, mindless patterns?
